Without immediate response, more will die.

God begins something new at the darkest hour. Just as He opened up the earth in Haiti He will close the wounds of the people. My heart aches for my people, my land, my family. It is so sad to know that so much of the death could have been prevented. Such strong people deserve better than what they have been given. Yes, it is a natural disaster, however the damages could be lower. This is the result of two centuries of mismanagement, corruption, and irresponsibility of our leaders. We lost a generation of university students, deans, intellectual elites, rich, poor, business people, and Government Officials. Everything is centralized in Port-au-Prince, so people have no other choice than to overpopulate the city of Port-au-Prince for driver's licence, ID, passport, college, to name a few, the Government has no housing regulations or if there is they are only on paper. Anybody can satisfy their fantasy by building whatever fits their budget, move in with no inspection; where are the tax records of the tax payers? Where there external backups? After, hurricane Jeanne in 2004; then Ike, Gustav, and Faye in 2008 is there an emergency response plan to address such disaster? Why are all those bodies are still dragging on the streets and under the rubble?

May the International community fully work in solidarity with the Haitians to rebuild the famous "Poorest Country of the Western Hemisphere:"
with genuine support without strings attached
may struggle be met with resilience
may ability to reach deeply and heal be practiced
may mistakes, greed and injustice never be overlooked or dismissed
may it not take another earthquake to peel back these layers.

We must be bold and act like never before so that we can rebuild this country. Haitians have suffered so much for too long. The International community and true believers of God full involvement and commitment are needed to restore this nation from the most remote villages to the largest cities
