God said to
Moses, “I see the suffering of Israel; I hear
the cry of my people.” He sent Moses to deliver
them from Pharaoh. Our nation is crying and we
need to respond. In response to this calling,
SAO members feel that it is a moral imperative
and a divine commitment to courageously take the
challenge to go to Haiti. The confrontations
ahead are immeasurable and to assume them we
have to take risks. Risks to leave all paved
highways in the US to reach the remote villages
to hand delivered the goods, services, and love
to those in needs with joy and compassionate
hands. Risks to leave our comfort zone to go to
their huts, to fellowship, cry, and laugh with
them. Someone must be willing to face up those
challenges and harmoniously SAO says: "here we
are Lord send us."
You do not
have to go, SAO will, all we need from you is
your priceless support and contribution to
alleviate the sufferings. And harmoniously we
can shout, "here we are Lord use us" and in
return He will say: so “For I was hungry and
you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and
you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger
and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you
clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
(Matthew 25:35-36, NIV)
All that is good, all that merit praises, and
all that please the eyes and the hearts need to
be the object of our thoughts and actions. This
endeavor to help the needy in rural Haiti is a
noble cause. As it is being done with love and
compassion and the desire to provide a better
future to the poverty-stricken families of
Haiti, your help and support of any kind will be
greatly appreciated.
